Welcome to Central Oakville
Central Oakville comprises several distinct areas: the historic area of renovated and custom homes in the west harbour area south of Lakeshore Road; the Kerr Village area of older side streets lined with mid century storey and a half or bungalow homes just west and east of Kerr Street; 1950's/1960's subdivisions in the bulge between Queen Mary Drive and the Sixteen Mile Creek; and the mixed small apartments and bungalows along the Maurice Drive area. New infill of upscale freehold townhomes has and will continue to occur in the area between Rebecca and Lakeshore with custom home builds elsewhere on the larger lots. A luxury condo apartment building is located on Forsythe and a new upscale small condo apartment building is at Rebecca and Garden.
Central Oakville is very desirable for those who want to be close to the Kerr Village restaurants and in walking distance of the lake and downtown Oakville. The Oakville Seniors Centre provides a wide array of activities and is a focal point which ensures persons downsizing from a larger family home will continue to find this neighbourhood attractive. Central Oakville has an amazing waterfront park - Tannery and Waterworks Park, accessible from the foot of Kerr Street and with trails leading right over to the Oakville Harbour. Quick access to the Q.E.W. is available from either the Kerr/Dorval or Trafalgar connections and the community has good bus access to the Oakville GO Station.
North - South: Speers Road to Lake Ontario. East - West: Sixteen Mile Creek to Dorval Drive.
